New GDP figures released this morning show the UK economy has reported the strongest growth since the Second World War and was the fastest growing G7 economy in 2021.
New figures show the economy grew by 7.5 per cent last year, showing that the UK plan is working we are on the right path as we build back better from the pandemic.
The recovery, which was faster than forecasters predicted, was supported by £400 billion package of support and historic vaccination programme that have taken place in the UK.
Sajid Javid MP said:
“Thanks to the hard work of the British people, we are recovering faster than forecasters predicted. We must also pay a particular tribute to everyone involved in the vaccine rollout, which has allowed such progress to be made.”
