Like so many of my colleagues in Parliament, constituents, and Bromsgrove Standard readers, I was devastated to hear that my friend, Sir David Amess, had been killed. My heart goes out to his wife, Julia, his family, and all those who loved him. He will be sorely missed.
Supporting and meeting our constituents is a huge privilege and one that must continue. As a proud champion of his community, it would have certainly been what Sir David would have wanted.
In that spirit, I was very pleased to head down to Bromsgrove Sporting before their highly anticipated FA Cup tie with Grimsby Town. Though the result did not go Bromsgrove’s way, over 3000 fans cheered on the team at the Victoria Ground, which is a fantastic boost for the club.
I also had the opportunity to visit several businesses, including GTAccess in Aston Fields. A company which started in Bromsgrove is now one of the largest independent powered access companies in the UK. The business is a big boost to the local economy and employment, and I wish them every future success.
Of course, all businesses have to start somewhere and that’s why I took the time to support Holly Lewis, as she opened the premises of her new business, Holly Berry Bakes. I’m sure the new shop in Bromsgrove will be a fantastic success and I urge residents and businesses near Sugarbrook Lane in Aston Fields to support it.
