I would first like to congratulate Bromsgrove’s own, Lauren Rowles, on winning gold at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. It is a fantastic achievement and one that has made us all immensely proud. In Bromsgrove, I recently met with the new Fire Chief for Hereford and Worcester. It was a productive meeting, and we covered a range of important issues. I also had the privilege to see the firefighters head out on call. It was a fantastic demonstration of their skill and professionalism.
In a more relaxed environment at Tardebigge Canal, I met with the Chief Executive of the Canal and River Trust. The Government is investing over £80,000 in the canal, which is such an important feature of our local culture, recreation, and history. I look forward to working with the Trust on supporting our beautiful waterways.
Of course, this investment also supports our local economy - which is making important progress on its recovery from the impact of the pandemic. New businesses, such as Dry Spy in Bromsgrove Town are generating employment and supporting young people. It was great to visit the business and hear more about the 30+ employment opportunities they are creating.
I will be holding further meetings in the weeks ahead, particularly as Parliament returns next week. As always, if I can be of any assistance to my constituents, please email me at [email protected].
