BROMSGROVE organisations and businesses can show some love to the town’s older people when the Pensioners’ Fair takes place on Valentine’s Day, writes Oliver Savidge in the Bromsgrove Standard.
The event, organised by town MP Sajid Javid, was due to take place before Christmas but had to be cancelled because of the general election.
The fair last year attracted crowds of more than 500 people who went along to find out about help, support and services offered across the district.
Attendees could also find out about activities and events across the district and this year Mr Javid has vowed to bring even more clubs, societies and charities together.
He said: “I want to celebrate the contribution retirees make to our community and the fantastic work of the clubs, charities and businesses that support them.”
Among those exhibiting will be sports clubs, Age UK, Artrix and the Bromsgrove Ramblers.
There will also be live performances, including one by singer Helen Pearson who will entertain audiences with various vintage classics.
The Pensioners’ Fair, which takes place between 10am and midday at Parkside on February 14, is free to both attendees and exhibitors.
