MP for Bromsgrove, Sajid Javid has long campaigned for additional funding for Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust, to ensure the best possible access to care for his Bromsgrove constituents.
On Friday, he and other Worcestershire MPs visited the newly opened £3million link bridge at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH) which provides a vital connection between the main hospital and the new 28-bed Aconbury ward. This link bridge will go far in increasing bed capacity and easing waiting times and it is part of a series of planned improvements to ease the winter pressure for Worcestershire hospitals.
Sajid also met with ward staff, patients and the acute trust’s new CEO, Matthew Hopkins during the visit.
The funding for this new link bridge is part of a £29.6 million capital funding pot from the Department of Health and Social Care secured by Sajid Javid MP, fellow Worcestershire MPs and the Worcestershire Acute Trust.
