MP for Bromsgrove, Sajid Javid has met with his constituent and Youth Ambassador to the One Campaign, Emily Watkins. Emily spoke to Sajid about her passion that every child has the right to education, regardless of their gender or background.
Sajid’s meeting with Emily came shortly before the UK Government announced that it is increasing its support for a global education fund for developing countries by 50%, to £75m per year. This is a significant step towards providing quality education to every child around the world and empowering the next generation.
MP for Bromsgrove, Sajid Javid said: “Aid has the power to end disease, suffering and extreme poverty, to build strong economies and to help the world's most vulnerable people. This latest commitment from Government will make an enormous difference to the 130 million girls out of school. The Government is committed to investing in a more prosperous future for children around the world."
