Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid has welcomed the opening of two new state-of-the-art operating theatres at the Alexandra Hospital.
The £18.8 million operating theatre complex is part of a number of recent investments into the Alexandra Hospital to improve services including £3.9 million expansion of endoscopy services and the return of the Garden Suite earlier this year.
The purpose built operating theatres will significantly increase theatre capacity and allow patients across Worcestershire to be seen more quickly.
The facilities are part of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s wider plans to transform the Alexandra Hospital into a surgical centre of excellence.
Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid welcomed the announcement, saying: " I am delighted that the new operating theatre complex at the Alexandra Hospital is now open.
I know just how important the Alexandra Hospital is to many of my constituents and these facilities will help people access the care they need more quickly”
This investment comes on top of a number of recent investments by the Government into the Alex such as the reopening of the Garden Suite earlier this year.”
