Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid, recently met with Richard Parry, Chief Executive of the Canal and River Trust to discuss an £84,000 government investment into Bromsgrove’s waterways.
Tardebigge Lock is set to benefit from a share of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, which is designed to protect our precious heritage, save jobs and prepare for the cultural bounce back post Covid-19.
The funding, which will be distributed by the Canal River Trust and Historic England, will help safeguard Worcestershire’s historic canals and rivers, so that everyone can enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of being by water.
Sajid Javid MP said:
“I was delighted to meet with Richard and the fantastic volunteers at the Canal and River Trust. Our beautiful waterways are a great part of our local heritage and this investment will help protect them”
