Over the past six months, people from our local community have gone above and beyond to support each other and protect the most vulnerable. However, an increase in the infection rate means the country has reached tipping point, and the chance of further restrictions in our area is now significant.
Last Friday, I met with representatives from our local NHS and Worcestershire Public Health. In local news, I was extremely pleased to see the Avoncroft Museum receive over £180,000 in Government support. Furthermore, Tardebigge Locks also received over £84,000. This funding will come from the Culture Recovery Fund, which is backing local heritage and culture across the country.
In Westminster, the Government launched the new Veterans’ Railcard. Captain Sir Tom Moore was the first recipient of the card, which will provide veterans and their families a third off rail travel. If you know someone has served, please let them know about the scheme.
