BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid has put together a dedicated task force team to help students across the district who are struggling to find the right university place for them in September.
The former Chancellor took action after being contacted by constituents concerned about the issues surrounding their A-level results and university offers.
The team will offer direct support to students struggling to secure a place on their first choice course.
During this unprecedented academic year, students will now receive their teacher assessed grades and with planned restrictions on the number of university places lifted and universities encouraged to be flexible Mr Javid wants to help where he can.
He has written to sixth-forms and colleges in Bromsgrove and posted on social media offering his support and reaching out to local students.
He said: “This has been an extremely challenging period for students in an unprecedented academic year.
“Over the past few days, parents and pupils from across Bromsgrove District have gotten in touch to raise issues with their results and offers from universities.
“I want to help our students in any way that I can.
“That’s why I’ve set up a dedicated support team for pupils and parents in Bromsgrove District.
“If you think that I might be able to assist you with your results, or with securing a place on the right course at university, then I’d be delighted to hear from you.”
Due to strict parliamentary protocol, Mr Javid can only act on the behalf of students who are constituents of Bromsgrove District.
