I am delighted that over half of adults across the UK have now been vaccinated. Over 27 million people have received their jab (including my AZ jab!), with 844,000 thousand doses administered on Saturday alone.
This is a monumental achievement and I want to thank the NHS, GP’s, volunteers, local authorities, and the army for their incredible work.
In Bromsgrove, all over 50s who had booked an appointment in recent weeks would have been vaccinated by last Saturday.
For those over 50s who have not received their jab, please call your GP or book an appointment online.
Our safe and effective vaccines are the route out of this pandemic, and we remain on course to meet our ambition to offer every adult a vaccine by the end of July.
There will be challenges ahead, but by getting our vaccinations and continuing the work to prevent the spread of Covid-19, our community will get through this pandemic.
