New statistics showing the Government's support to self-employed workers in Bromsgrove District have been welcomed by Local MP, Sajid Javid.
2,700 self-employed people in Bromsgrove District have accessed over £7.3 million worth of grants, since the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme reopened in August this year.
This is in addition to the £11 million of support provided to self-employed workers through the first grant.
Self-employed people have had six months of income support during the coronavirus pandemic – one of the most generous schemes in the world.
- A first grant, covering up to 80 per cent of average monthly profits was made available for March-May
- There has been a second grant covering up to 70 percent of average monthly profits, available for June-August.
Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid, said:
“I know this year has been hugely challenging for self-employed workers in Bromsgrove, and these latest figures demonstrate the scale of support that the Conservative Government has put in place to support them”
“To secure the strongest possible recovery from this virus, businesses and self-employed people in Bromsgrove need the continued support of local residents”
