Sajid Javid visits Primrose Hospice

PATIENTS and bereavement support group members at Bromsgrove’s Primrose Hospice welcomed town MP Sajid Javid last week, writes Abi Cook in the Bromsgrove Standard.

Mr Javid, named as the charity’s patron earlier this year, answered patients’ questions on hospice funding and pensions and met with staff and volunteers.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer heard first-hand the positivity Primrose brought to those with life-limiting conditions and their families.

He also revealed that it was meeting Trevor the hospice’s dog on his last visit which prompted him and his family to get their own four-legged friend Bailey who has become one of the most popular residents of Number 11 Downing Street.

Primrose Hospice Chief Executive Officer David Burrell said he was pleased to welcome Mr Javid.

“We are extremely proud of what we do here and how we support people living in Bromsgrove, Redditch and beyond.

“It was important for the patients and support group members to share with Sajid what Primrose Hospice means to them and how we support people in the constituency.

“It was humbling to hear them talk about Primrose in such glowing terms.”
